Bergenia ‘Blickfang’

A rarely seen Rosemarie Eskuche introduction whose German name translates to Eye-catcher in English. It was so named because of its strikingly bright inflorescences which carry clusters of petite pink-purple flowers in rich red calyces atop a bright pink stem that can reach up to 40cm. Dark green, upright leaves with a ciliate margin blushed pink are fairly unremarkable but do turn slightly red-brown in winter.

Not available in the UK but can be found in specialist collections.
