Bergenia ‘Cabernet’

A new selection by plantsman Robert Herman, formerly of the Graefin von Zepelin nursery. An improved winter foliage variety with deep red wine coloured foliage, darker on the upper leaf surface and brighter on the underside. Lasting from late October to May, the leaves contrast wonderfully with the bright pink flowers in spring, that reach 15-20cm. Unusually shaped, oblong leaves aren’t typical for the genus but are a welcome and interesting feature.
