Bergenia ciliata ‘Dumbo’

A superb plant well worth growing for its leaves alone. Large, rounded, deep green leaves with sporadic pubescence on the upper and lower leaf surface and a densely ciliate margin form a highly attractive clump. Clusters of white flowers, blushed pink, are held upright in pink-green calyces atop a red stem in spring.

An excellent specimen plant which is better planted in the ground than in a pot where it will show off its dramatic foliage. Commonly available.
