Bergenia ciliata Kew form
An unusual glaucous form of this exceptional species grown by Nick Macer from seed donated by Royal Botanic Garden Kew. Very similar to B. ciliata var. ciliata with highly attractive, large, rounded, bristly leaves with a prominent, almost white, venation and short, rough cilia on the margin. A blue-green tint to the leaves can be seen in the right light.
Semi-evergreen so will lose most of its foliage in the winter. Beautiful white-pink flowers appear on short, stout, red-pink stems in spring. A stunning form that should be more widely grown. Available from Pan Global Plants.
