Bergenia ciliata ‘Wilton’
Quite simply one of the best Bergenia for foliage. Its exceptionally large dark green leaves have deep veins and a sinuous margin blushed pink, and are covered in a thick mat of soft white-grey hairs. The leaves are tapered toward the apex, similar to B. pacumbis, therefore it may be a hybrid of the two species. The thick pink-red petiole has some of the longest cilia of any Bergenia. In spring, soft pink blushed white flowers appear in a tight cluster atop a short stem.
Grow for its dramatic foliage and textural interest. Commonly available.
