Bergenia cordifolia ‘Vinterglöd’

A compact cultivar with attractive small, rounded, spoon-shaped, shiny dark green leaves that become flushed red in autumn before turning a deep kidney red in winter. Drooping clusters of magenta-pink flowers open from deep red calyces atop dark stems in spring.

Commonly available but often sold under different names, including B. 'Winterglut' and B. 'Winter Glow'. The correct name is B. 'Vinterglöd'.
