Bergenia emeiensis ‘Snow Chimes’

A rare, named wild form which was selected at a high elevation in Mt. Omei and introduced into cultivation by Piroche Plants and Dan Heims in 1998 as B. emeiensis 'Snow Chimes'. It has typical, strap-like, dark green, glossy foliage for the species but unlike the Roy Lancaster introduction, this form turns a deep purple-red in autumn-winter. Flowers are yet to be observed. A highly attractive and choice plant.

No longer available for sale in the UK. Although it can be found in private gardens and specialist collections.
