Bergenia ‘Frau Holle’

A truly striking cultivar with upright, elongated, bright green leaves that become flushed red toward the margin in autumn-winter. In spring, tall pink-green, branching stems of varying heights, reaching up to 70cm, carry loose clusters of attractive, pale pink flowers. A superb ground cover that can have quite an effect when planted en masse.

Sadly, no longer available in trade and very rarely seen in cultivation nowadays. An impressive clump can be found growing in Battleston Hill at RHS Wisley.

Height: 70cm; Spread: 80cm
