Bergenia ‘Memelinks Pride’

Named after Mr Memelink, this cultivar has large, rounded, dark green leaves with depressed veins and a good shine. Margin pink and ciliate at the base. In spring, clusters of the most attractive apple blossom pink flowers open from deep red calyces on elegant branching stems.

A similar plant found growing in the mother beds at Hans Kramer’s De Hessenhof in the Netherlands under the name 'Memelink’s Sprite'. No such name has been recorded elsewhere and there are no observable differences between the plants. Thus, it is presumed that this is a mis-applied name.

Available from specialist nurseries, such as Claire Austin Hardy Plants.
