Bergenia ‘Rose Queen’
An attractive pink flowering cultivar found growing at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh (RBGE), the name of which can’t be traced online or in literature. Several plants growing at RBGE can be traced to the same accession from 2005 which indicates it may be an early-mid noughties introduction.
The strap-like, dark green leaves have a coarse ciliate margin and a nice clumping habit. In spring, bright pink flowers held in deep red calyces open in tight clusters on branching red stems.
